When the Religion Just Become a Knowledge

 

Introduction

According to Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia, religion means doctrine, which regulates the system of faith (trust) and the worship of Almighty God and the grammar rules related to human relationships, people and the environment. The word religion comes from Sanskrit, it means religious traditions. In Fawaid book, (Ibn Qoyyim: 105) Islam is God and His Apostle teaching, the people lived after the messengers who interpreted, understood and practiced the teachings correctly as desired by Allah and His Messenger. Then theology is the study of the word  of God, the word of the companions of the prophet and an explanation of the goals of al-Quran verses and hadith of the prophet. Thus the legal compulsory for Muslims to seek knowledge of religion and science prevalent because God hates people who do not use their minds to think.

            Actually seeking science is not only by learning in formal institutions, but must practice the science by applying it in our daily life. The importance of learning and practicing the science has been mentioned in Holly book Al quran and has been delivered by our Prophet Muhammad SAW. In much prophet traditions, one of them is “If have died people of adam, lost all amal neither three namely sodaqoh jariyah, the useful science and the prayer of child”. In Arabic wise word, it is said that science without practicing is like a bee without honey.

As we know together, Islamic education is a lesson which has been being obligated which must followed by all students in the school. Basically, Islamic education has special destination, namely to make good moral and good behavior for the students. Today we understand that Islamic education is not only given in madrasah, but also in almost all schools in this nation. In addition, we must realize now, that Islamic education educates students to practice the materials they receive in their daily life with other people. Otherwise in fact, we have listened many cases happened in our country where there were many teachers did amorality out of Islamic guidance. First we must notice the educator roles, because the teacher becomes an example for his/her students. The good teacher will create good student, so the teacher will determine the student quality.  

Supposed to be armed with sufficient knowledge of religion will deliver it to the good one. But at this time the reality is inversely proportional to the statement, considering the number of people who seek knowledge to higher education but it actually happens more and more things that are not desirable.

           

When the religion just become a knowledge

When religion is only as insightful as it does in today's society, it can definitely be more rampant cases should not be done by people in the education community. It reminds us of the importance of the practice of science that has been owned by each individual. Allah also says in the letter that means: then look at how the virtue of the people who practice the science that has been learned, And there are also some hadith that discuss the importance of the practice of science one of which is the following : Many benefit that we can take both of verse and of the Hadith, one of them is when we seek knowledge we must not merely worldly oriented to decorate themselves so highly regarded by the people around us but in studying its practice should we focus on in order to bring benefit to others , Because we have the science that will undoubtedly add to the faith , makes us istiqomah road of truth and God will show us the sciences that we do not know .

 We often see many cases in education world directly or indirectly which are done by our young generations or our teachers which actually not to be done by them. Such as the case happened in Jayapura, for about last month, maybe we ever watched the video where the teacher explained lesson by smoking, and did impolite deed. Besides that, many actions of teacher are not suitable to do by the educator such as insulting one of students, threat the students, come late, etc. Therefore, as well as possible, the teacher must become and give good examples for students so that they can imitate. There are not a little number of students, who do amorality together with and toward others such as free sex, drugs, heroin, drinking alcohol, murdering caused simple things etc.

Many cases above show that religion just becomes the knowledge and certainly it will a shames Islamic world in universe. In the reality they know if what have they do is wrong and very forbidden in Islamic laws, but they just consider it as generally in their mind. Important for us as the next generation of Moslem to remind that our duty is too keep our religion from kinds of criminals. We understand that science is power and becomes our gun. But we must able practice between Islamic and public science.

The more moral damages are visible in our country if not immediately addressed the way of thinking of people who seek knowledge

Conclusion

            The problems we have discussed above are our mistakes that we need to repair it together. On behalf of us are busy in seeking science to make it as knowledge only by purpose to get the high dignity among the human beings as the intellectual man and to be respected by society. We need to instill strongly that seeking science is to develop our good behavior and good moral among the human being. Ibnu Qayyum RA.said one of happiness signs and success is when the science of a servant is more increasing so the heart will be more silent and good affection. Further, more improving the good deeds so the fear will increase too.
